Meccanotecnica Umbra has, as always, set itself the aim of implementing internal and external, environmentally friendly production processes, promoting protection and adapting the organisation and operating procedures to the requirements required by reference standards. The formal path began in 1999 with achievement of the environmental management system certification in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard. In 2007 a further step was taken that demonstrates corporate social responsibility and corporate commitment aimed at combining economic performance and environmental protection: the adhesion to the EMAS Community Regulation.
The maturity achieved in recent years has allowed the Group to implement an Integrated Environment and Safety Management System (SGI) with the overriding objective of harmonising corporate development with the total respect of all stakeholders, thus giving priority to continuous improvement of environmental services and health and safety in the workplace.
In March 2014, in culmination of the long-established policy of strong interpenetration between business aspects and values, MTU also obtained ISO 45001 certification.
