Unlike most competitors, Meccanotecnica Umbra designs and manufactures its sealing rings in-house. From the formulation of carbon powder compounds to the definition of sintering processes and parameters, every stage is managed internally and validated through advanced testing capabilities.

This integrated approach allows us to tailor our sealing rings to specific operating conditions and to the mechanical design of the seal itself, turning them into essential components rather than standard off the shelf materials.

The new MecCarbon and MecSilicon families further expand Meccanotecnica Umbra’s advanced portfolio of sliding face materials. These solutions complement the well established Mecflon range, which particularly in its Y1 and Y4 grades is globally recognized as a benchmark for PTFE sliding materials used in mechanical seals.
