Meccanotecnica Umbra S.p.A. is certified according to the ISO 9001 standards of April 1995 through TÜV Bayern.
MTU has always paid considerable attention to the quality of its products and the system used within the company. Somuch so that in April 1987 it was already equipped with a collection of operational procedures and instructions able to exactly define all of the critical stages of the internal processes.
Every year, improvements are made, regulated by a specific procedure.
Specifically, for the automotive sector in April 1996, it was awarded approval for its Quality System according to EAQF '94 standards with an A 93 classification. During 2002, the attainment of ISO TS certification is expected, which has validity outside of Europe as well.
In the three years between 1998 and 2000, the company also reported considerable success of external import, participating in the Premio Qualità Italia, a competition based on the EFQM method of self-evaluation as a benchmark tool against the "ideal" company. MTU achieved increasingly higher awards and recognitions that culminated with the absolute first place in 2000.
