Meccanotecnica Umbra has practiced total quality management according to the most advanced international standards, since 1995.The quality management system and the whole of the organizational structure, including procedures, processes and resources (time, personnel, facilities, machinery, instruments) necessary to coordinate and control all activities with the objective of satisfying all explicit and implicit requirements and increasing customer satisfaction.
Managing a company according to the requirements of a quality management system requires effectiveness and efficiency, emphasizing the prevention of errors, the reduction of waste and non-conformities, and the consequent costs of "non-quality" in the supply chain.
Since 2002 the quality management system of MTU has been certified by TUV according to the Technical Specification ISO/TS 16949:2002 "Quality management systems -- Particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2000 for automotive production and relevant service part organizations" which represents the current standard of reference for companies that produce parts for the automotive sector.
The quality management system of the plant in Curitiba (Brazil) has been certified according to the ISO/TS 16949 standard since 2007, and that of the plant in Quingdao (China) since 2009.
