A CONTINUOUSLY GROWING COMPANY

Founded about 40 years ago, Meccanotecnica Umbra S.p.A is an international producer of mechanical seals for water pumps, covering about 35% of the automotive sector and about 50% of the dishwasher sector of the global market. The original company is situated in Campello sul Clitunno, a small town in Umbria located between Assisi and Spoleto, 140 km north of Rome. In 2001 the company founded Meccanotecnica do Brasil to serve the South American market, and in 2006 Meccanotecnica Qingdao in China to supply and develop the southeast Asian market. In January of 2008, Meccanotecnica Umbra acquired the Swedish company Huhnseal AB.
With this acquisition, the Meccanotecnica Group has completed the range of products at its disposal, positioning itself in the medium and heavy duty industrial seals sector.
At the beginning of 2010, other strategic operations were initiated. The MTU Group acquired a competitor, Cyclam North America, giving life to Meccanotecnica USA, and started a joint venture with Madurai in India, in conjunction with HTA, the local producer of oil seals owned by the Japanese company Arai, the leading producer of this type of seal in all of southeast Asia.
With these operations the Group is represented on every continent, involved not merely in the distribution network but also in production.
Meccanotecnica S.p.A has always focused on quality and technical innovation, to supply its clients with reliable and competitive products, due to the automation and intense monitoring of quality during the entire production process including its sliding face seals.
One of the company's main priorities is its close technical collaboration with its clients, always increasingly interested in globalization, offering the same product at the same high level of quality in each of its production facilities worldwide.
